Dr. Eric Boyd’s journey to founding Leadership Realized began with a passion for understanding what drives success. Armed with a PhD in Marketing and years of academic research, Dr. Boyd spent decades teaching, mentoring, and coaching leaders across industries. But it wasn’t just his credentials that set him apart—it was his ability to connect deeply with individuals and help them discover their unique strengths. Combining his expertise in leadership, branding, and mindfulness, Dr. Boyd developed the CLAIM Framework, a transformative approach to crafting leadership brands that empower professionals to achieve meaningful impact and career growth.
LEADERSHIP ADVOCATE
I am constantly looking for opportunities to enhance the leadership opportuniites of others. This motivated me to co-found with my wife, Anna Alvarez Boyd, FairWays to Leadership (FWTL), a national leadership development nonprofit. As president of FWTL, I guide the nonprofit in pursuing its mission of developing the leadership skills of college students from diverse communities through the experience of learning golf. The work with FWTL reflects my focus on making access to leaders and leadership opportunities fair for everyone.
LEADERSHIP TRAINER
I received my PhD in marketing from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and have over 20 years of managerial teaching experience. I am an award-winning instructor who is recognized internationally for the innovativeness and quality of my instruction. My teaching background enables me to offer an immersive learning experience that integrates marketing and sales training with leadership coaching that enhances client’s understanding of their strengths and improves their ability to be an effective leader.
LEADERSHIP SCHOLAR
I am a Professor Emeritus at James Madison University and associate professor of marketing at the University of Central Florida. My research on leadership has been published in leading management journals like Harvard Business Review and marketing journals like Advertising Age. My work as a scholar reflects an emphasis on best practices and cutting edge knowledge related to leadership.
